Position Summary:
The Junior Production Scheduler supports the coordination of production workflows by working closely with the Scheduler to manage multiple concurrent projects at various stages of production within Overlanders. This role is focused on assisting in the execution of short-term production plans, ensuring alignment between customer requirements and production department capabilities. The Junior Production Scheduler is responsible for helping resolve scheduling and production challenges in a timely and effective manner while maintaining efficient workflow throughout the manufacturing process. By applying Lean Manufacturing principles, this position contributes to reducing production lead times, improving operational efficiency, and eliminating waste.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Scheduler/Planner in executing and maintaining the production schedule.
  • Develop and adjust production schedules to support on-time delivery commitments.
  • Maintain and update daily production assignments and priorities on the job board.
  • Monitor production progress, capacity limitations, and potential delivery risks, escalating issues to the Scheduler and Operations team as needed.
  • Support material planning activities in collaboration with the Supply Chain team to ensure material availability.
  • Coordinate outsourced manufacturing activities as directed to support capacity demands, equipment downtime, and customer delivery requirements.
  • Contribute to the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning tools, systems, and processes.
  • Spend significant time on the production floor validating schedule compliance, identifying bottlenecks, and confirming job status and progress.
  • Support customer order status inquiries by collecting accurate production information and communicating updates through customer account owners.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling, routing, due dates, and job status information within the ERP system.
  • Identify, prioritize, and expedite critical customer orders to achieve on-time delivery objectives.
  • Participate in daily production meetings, communicating scheduling priorities, updates, constraints, and potential risks.
  • Prepare and distribute production scheduling reports, open order reports, and delivery risk reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with CAD, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production teams to support efficient workflow execution and problem resolution.

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems is required; experience with Info Visual is considered an asset.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Ability to read and interpret production drawings, routings, and manufacturing documentation; experience in sheet metal manufacturing is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions.

Employment Details:
  • Starting Wage: Dependent on skills and experience.
  • Shift Schedule: This position can be worked as either:
    • 5 days per week: Monday to Thursday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with flexible set hours on Friday; or.
    • 4 days per week: Four 10-hour shifts, Monday to Thursday, 2:00PM to 12:30PM.
  • Training Shift (Approx. 1-3 months): Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm.
  • Full-time employment.
  • Benefits after 3-month probationary period.
