About the Job
We’re looking for an experienced Powder Coater (Night shift) to join our production team at Overlanders Manufacturing in Abbotsford, BC. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing sheet metal components using powder coating techniques to ensure consistent, high‑quality results in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in enhancing the appearance, durability, and quality of our finished products. If you have hands‑on powder coating experience and take pride in producing clean, defect‑free finishes, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing manufacturing team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Powder Coating: Apply powder coating to sheet metal parts using a spray gun, ensuring even coverage and a quality finish.
  • Surface Prep: Clean, sand, and prepare metal surfaces to ensure proper coating adhesion.
  • Equipment Care: Clean, maintain, and inspect spray guns, booths, and ovens; troubleshoot basic issues.
  • Quality Checks: Inspect finished parts for defects and make adjustments to meet quality standards.
  • Safety Practices: Follow all safety rules, use required PPE, and maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Inventory Monitoring: Track and report coating materials and supplies; coordinate restocking as needed.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of coating specs, batches, and inspection results.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and fix coating or equipment issues to keep production running smoothly.

Employment Details:
  • Shift: Afternoon/Night shift - Monday to Thursday, 4:15 PM - 2:15 AM (40 hours/week).
  • Schedule Perk: Enjoy every Friday off (no rotating shifts).
  • Pay: CA$22 - CA$25 per hour (experience and skills dependent).
  • Shift Premium: Additional $1.50/hour night‑shift premium for all hours worked on the Monday - Thursday afternoon/night shift (4:15 PM - 2:15 AM).

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of powder coating experience.
  • Manufacturing experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs repetitively.
  • You must be reliable, pleasant and can be trained.
  • Ability to follow English written and spoken directions.
